Valedictorian

 

It is time for the Class of 2026 to select a Valedictorian to represent you at Commencement in the fall.  

Graduating students must have completed and submitted their 40 hours of community service before they are considered eligible to nominate, vote, or to be considered for Valedictorian. 

The deadline to submit your volunteer hours to the Guidance Office is Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

Your nominee for Valedictorian must meet the following criteria: 

  • academic excellence 
  • excellent public speaking skills
  • exemplary writing skills 
  • demonstrates school leadership and makes positive contributions to the life of the school
  • must be willing to give the farewell speech to their class a great deal of time, thought, and effort
  • must understand that the purpose of the Valedictorian is to say good-bye to the class and not to a small group of personal friends. The valedictory address must be tasteful, and must not exclude members of the graduating class. 
  • must have completed and submitted their community service hours to the Guidance Office. 


Please note: 

  • Printable nomination forms for Valedictorian are available below. 
  • The signature of the nominator and the signatures of five fellow graduating students who support the nominee must accompany each nomination.  
  • Self-nominations will not be accepted. Nominators and supporters may sign only ONE nomination form. 
  • Nomination forms are due by 3:15 pm on Friday, May 1, 2026. Please submit completed nomination forms to the front office or the Library. 
  • Speeches and voting will occur in mid-May.
  • The valedictory address must be submitted in advance and approved by administration prior to Commencement.
